Qualifying
We walked 5000k's yesterday - I'm sure!! but it was great, we walked the entire track, sat in all different locations around the track and watched all the classes doing their practice sessions. Saw a few crashes and by the time we got back to our Hotel we were completely knackered. We had a shower and as if we hadn't walked enough - we then walked into Westerbork to buy some sunscreen and an ice cream. Slept like logs that night.
Up bright and early this morning, drove to the track and had breakfast at the Strubben Lounge where we are booked in for the weekend.. Sat in the grandstand for the Motogp qualifying and various other spots for other events. We went mental when Casey qualified on Pole in the last three minutes. Every one in the grandstand knew we were Aussies and barracking for Stoner. The drive back to the hotel was great. We had four flags flying from the four windows and got cheers all the way. Peter had a big flag flying out of the window and the passenger on a motorbike grabbed it as he went past so we were in hot pursuit to get it back!! I was driving (the only sober one!) and Steve was directing. We caught up to the guy at the traffic lights and Steve jumped out and rescued the flag to the cheers of the crowd and thankfully the cops saw the funny side too. We have just finished an awesome meal at the hotel. Matt, Bec, Naomi and Renee - your ears must be burning - we had a good reminiss session. The weather has been great. Qualifying stopped for a while because of rain but it was so light, and we were undercover so it was no hassle to us.
Tomorrow is racing - GO CASEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ready for the Assen GP!
Amsterdam was great we visited Rembrandts house and that was (surprisingly) very very interesting, we did a canal cruise, lots of walking, tram and train trips, a river cruise and of course the Red Light District. The age of everything never ceases to amaze me and how they cater to so many people, so efficiently. It doesn't get dark here until 11pm and the sun is up again at 5.30am. Steve and Mike flew into Amsterdam from Barcelona so we met them at the airport and then picked up the hire car and drove to Westerbork which is where we are now, about 20 minutes from the Assen track. The trip from Amsterdam to here took about two hours so we caught up on all the things they had been up to. The country side here is such a contrast to Amsterdam - green, quiet, quaint. We had an amazing three course meal (thanks Mum!) and some wine and now the boys are having a beer at the bar while I write this. We have decent internet! Tomorrow morning we will have breakfast here and then head off to the track. The weather has been good and tomorrow it is supposed to be 27C!
